Theatre

Gone are the days when stage decor remained in the background, literally and figuratively. Today the blue backdrop is out. The city has woken up to the need for an aesthetic touch in every field and hence the stage too in recent years, is coming to the fore in a subtle yet sure way.

Chennai music season's attractions, the Music Academy, Krishna Gana Sabha and Narada Gana sabha, the main venues of the art season, sported a new look that kept changing often, thanks to the artistic flair of an industrious couple - V. V. Ramani and Hema Ramani.
